Well we have been at it again! The cob sales 2012 didn't disappoint, combined with the evening Thorneyside dispersal sale which was fantastic and had an electric atmosphere. The Pearly King and Queen's got the feel good factor going and built the atmosphere up to a crescendo. Terry court from Brightwells Auctioneers took to the rostrum, hoping for a record bid of £20,000 or more which he smashed twice! Saturday evening we witnessed a superb display of old fashioned breeding, the incredible stockgetter Brynymor Welsh Magic being prolific throughout all the Thorneyside lots. Dad spotted a true to type chestnut mare with fantastic limbs which he felt would be a perfect "wife" one day for our own Ringside Lucifer. This was her second time at the sales, incredibly she sold for £11,000 as a foal. She had a super colt foal which went for strong money, so we are very excited and look forward to the future! We would like to Congratulate Mr Peter Grey on such a wonderful consignment of Welsh Cobs which were a credit to the breed and Mr Terry Court for doing a marvellous job of putting on such a great event.

But....... the sales were not over yet! On the Sunday the whole family travelled back up to Builth, Kate and Mum had been on the look out for a section C foal for some time. After looking at every Section C Filly foal possible it was narrowed down to three. Finally we feel we purchased a filly that ticked all of our boxes, her name is Menai Choir Girl. She is fantastically bred with Menai Fury on both sides and out of a daughter of the Hoys finalist Menai Calon Lan. Already named by her future rider Kate, "Britney" has a beautiful front and head, four socks and is a lovely, balanced mover, what more could you want!
